Wireless

As the need for online content and cloud technologies increase the impetus to move to higher speed, more reliable wifi has never been more important. With tablets and chromebooks fast replacing textbooks and exercise books, schools require strong, stable and competent wireless to support the constant growth of mobile devices.

Computer Talk has been a long-term approved reseller for Ruckus and we highly recommend their wifi technology as the best all-round solution to deliver reliable results. You get a cost-effective, wireless infrastructure which is robust, reliable and has great coverage to support today’s demanding learners.

Our most popular system for primary schools is Ruckus Unleashed, a high-performance, easy-to-manage, affordable portfolio of access points with built-in controller functionality. The proposed Wireless System chooses one Access Point to act as a Primary, or Master AP, which manages the rest of the network. Should we need to expand the system, you just need to add in the new access points and the primary/master AP will take care of the rest. Making the solution scalable, and affordable.

For larger schools and MATs we recommend Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi, which removes the complexity of managing a distributed wifi network across multiple sites whilst reducing IT overhead. Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi eliminates the need for on-premises controllers, moving wireless management to the cloud. Your multi-site wireless network can be managed through a single pane of glass UI and a fully-featured mobile app.

We offer a free site survey* to schools allowing us to design and implement the perfect wireless solution.

Where scaled drawings are available, we will offer a heat map based survey delivering accurate signal coverage and strength throughout the school building. If this is not available we will undertake a physical wireless survey using analysing software and Ruckus hardware to provide a wireless deployment based on accurate information.

*Our free site survey is subject to the size and location of the school building(s).
