Security

Unfortunately, IT disasters do happen. Whether it’s physical damage to a school’s premises or equipment or a cyber-attack, risks exist that need to assessed and included in your school’s business continuity plan. Luckily these threats can be planned for and mitigated. The right solution depends on your school’s infrastructure.

We work with you to identify what needs to be put in place, such as a disaster recovery plan and critical data back-up. With these processes in place, you’ll be ready should disaster strike.

Multi-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) strengthens access security by requiring two methods (or factors) to verify your identity. A type of multi-factor authentication, it requests your username and password then asks you to approve an authentication request via a mobile/smartphone. This protects against phishing, social engineering, and password brute-force attacks, securing your logins from attackers exploiting weak or stolen credentials.

We recommend Duo’s 2FA solution, which is available for both iPhones and Android, as well as wearables like Apple Watch. Once the user logs in, it will push a notification to their device to approve. With one click, they have access.

Duo 2FA can be used for Remote Services, Office 365 or any product where 2FA is required for protecting sensitive school data.
