Email communications

How will you know it is from Computer Talk?

All emails from Computer Talk will be sent with an identifying logo, and will clearly identify us as the sender. If you are unsure about the source of an email do not click attachments or downloads, and send an image screenshot to gdpr@computertalk.co.uk to confirm.

We will only send email messages from an address ending with @computertalk.co.uk or @computertalk.myzen.co.uk.

How can we unsubscribe from marketing emails?

All marketing emails will include an option to unsubscribe from future email messages, or to update your contact preferences.

You may unsubscribe from all mailing lists, with the exception of any emails that stop us from performing our duties under the terms of your agreement, regarding legal notices, invoicing, or license renewals.

What about emails from third parties on our behalf?

Any third parties who send emails on our behalf will be required to comply with legislative requirements on unsolicited emails and the use of personal data. Please remember that the only third party emails you will receive are likely to come from providers of services you have agreed to - e.g. MS Licensing, SaharaPLC, Microsoft...

We will never send your information to a third party without your prior consent (see 'Customers of Computer Talk' - 'When do we share your information?').

How long are they retained for?

All email communications with Computer Talk are subject to our retention policy (some exclusions, like emails sent to jobs@computertalk.co.uk, do apply). Emails are securely archived after 2 years, and after a further 5 years of archiving they are permanently deleted. We keep records for this period of time as it enables us to perform duties with our Customers, keep documented proof where required, but also keeps your information secure.


Calling Computer Talk

How can we be removed from call lists?

If you do not wish to receive calls from Computer Talk, please inform the agent on the phone at the time, and they will update your preferences.

Do we record calls?

All calls with Computer Talk are recorded for monitoring and training purposes. You may request that the agent stops recording at any time during your call.
