We have ensured that Autotask, our third party provider for cloud-based CRM is GDPR compliant and follows similar security measures and protocols as Computer Talk.

In the event that we receive requests from government departments, agencies or other official bodies, we will only disclose your information if and to the extent that we believe we are legally required to do so (for example, but without limitation, upon receipt of a court order, warrant, subpoena or equivalent).

Except as set out above, we will not disclose your personal data save where we need to do so in order to enforce our rights.

When do we share your information?

Where this information is required to perform part of a contract (such as licensing renewals, subscriptions or purchases), any information that we share is done so under contract and agreement when an order is placed or notification of interest is made. Email communications with Computer Talk

How will you know it is from Computer Talk?

All emails from Computer Talk will be sent with an identifying logo, and will clearly identify us as the sender. If you are unsure about the source of an email do not click attachments or downloads, and send an image screenshot to gdpr@computertalk.co.uk to confirm.

We will only send email messages from an address ending with @computertalk.co.uk or @computertalk.myzen.co.uk.

How can we unsubscribe from marketing emails?

All marketing emails will include an option to unsubscribe from future email messages, or to update your contact preferences.

You may unsubscribe from all mailing lists, with the exception of any emails that stop us from performing our duties under the terms of your agreement, regarding legal notices, invoicing, or license renewals.

What about emails from third parties on our behalf?

Any third parties who send emails on our behalf will be required to comply with legislative requirements on unsolicited emails and the use of personal data. Please remember that the only third party emails you will receive are likely to come from providers of services you have agreed to - e.g. MS Licensing, SaharaPLC, Microsoft...

We will never send your information to a third party without your prior consent (see 'Customers of Computer Talk' - 'When do we share your information?').

How long are they retained for?

All email communications with Computer Talk are subject to our retention policy (some exclusions, like emails sent to jobs@computertalk.co.uk, do apply). Emails are securely archived after 2 years, and after a further 5 years of archiving they are permanently deleted. We keep records for this period of time as it enables us to perform duties with our Customers, keep documented proof where required, but also keeps your information secure.

Calling Computer Talk

How can we be removed from call lists?

If you do not wish to receive calls from Computer Talk, please inform the agent on the phone at the time, and they will update your preferences.

Do we record calls?

All calls with Computer Talk are recorded for monitoring and training purposes. You may request that the agent stops recording at any time during your call.

Job Applicants

How do you get in touch?

We accepts CV's, covering letters, and other relevant information on a rolling basis. We kindly request that these are sent to jobs@computertalk.co.uk. Depending on the volume of CVs we are sent depends on whether we are able to reply to each request.

Current vacancies are available on our website. Alternatively you may also request details of jobs using the email address above. Current positions are available on our website.

How long do we keep your CV?

Any information you send us regarding job applications is stored automatically for a maximum of 6 months. We do this as we believe it is in your best interests, and for legal reasons. If you wish us to keep your CV on file after that time, you must request this from us at the point of submission.

When you send a CV or information over, we will send an automatic response to your email detailing this retention policy.

Where do we store your CV/information?

Any personal data provided during your application is stored on our secure network. Access to this information is restricted to those at management level that are required to see this information for recruitment. After 6 months your personal data will be destroyed.

Log on details held by you

If you have been given log-in details to provide you with access to our Helpdesk or Knowledge base you are responsible for keeping those details safe.

Breach notification

We will notify you (and the ICO) of any breach that is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms without undue delay. We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data. You can report any concerns you may have to the ICO here, and you can contact Computer Talk regarding Data Protection and GDPR by emailing gdpr@computertalk.co.uk.

Notification of changes

This privacy policy was last updated on 1st May 2018. We reserve the right to amend or vary this policy at any time and the revised policy will apply from the date posted on the site. You accept that by doing this, we have provided you with sufficient notice of the amendment.
